Beethoven: Symphony No. 8

• Beethoven’s Eighth Symphony is one of his most light-hearted works, cheerful with musical jokes throughout.
• Conrad Tao, the world-class, innovative and edgy composer-pianist, performs two Piano Concertos, including one of his own compositions and one by Shostakovich’s favorite student, the unique modernist Galina Ustvolskaya.
• Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture follows the epic story of the historic Coriolanus as he invades Rome.
• Music historian Robert Greenberg will join Tito Muñoz and the orchestra to provide additional context to this program.
